Integration and language courses

A good command of German is crucial to accessing good opportunities at school and work. Being able to express yourself in German is also important to living an independent life and engaging with other people.

German and integration courses are offered for people with many different requirements and, in some cases, are linked to the learning of vocational skills. Integration courses run under the German Immigration Act (Zuwanderungsgesetz) also convey information about Germany (“Orientierungskurs/orientation course”).

Please check the website of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) to find out which course is suitable for whom and which integration and German courses are available.
